		<description>Agreed, although I wouldn't say webdesign is dead, rather static content is dead.  Web design still requires a view to be designed using markup however that alone is not sufficient for creating a website these days.  Today's web pages are written much like full featured  applications.  To do this they follow the same gui paradigms, using the model-view-controller pattern or something similar. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model-view-controller)
Maybe there is still room for someone who is only interest in the "view" aspect of web design but the tools we have now almost make it impossible to do so without knowledge of how the other pieces of the web app fit together.</description>
